My collections are built as connected visual systems rather than isolated prints. Textile traditions, modular construction and architectural thinking come together to create artwork that can shift across scale, colour, format and product category while retaining a recognisable visual language.

Textile memory, architectural structure, adaptable pattern.

D E S I G N P H I L O S O P H Y

My relationship with textiles began long before I became a surface designer. My mother, a retired professor of Clothing and Textiles, introduced me from an early age to a world of cloth, embroidery, construction and textile traditions. I became fascinated by the way textiles could hold both function and story, and went on to explore textile processes including kantha, boro, embroidery and patchwork.

Today, I reinterpret that textile language through a contemporary lens. My architectural training brings another dimension to my design practice. Architecture taught me to think through proportion, hierarchy, rhythm, scale and systems — and, importantly, to understand the reason behind every line.I bring that same thinking to surface design. A stitch, stripe, geometric division or patch is not simply decorative; each has a role within the composition and within the wider collection.

The result is a design language where textile memory n hand-crafted character meet architectural structure — creating contemporary collections with purpose, adaptability and product in mind..

PATTERN, MEMORY & THE LANGUAGE OF CLOTH

T H E L I V I N G P A T T E R N

A defining principle of my work is the idea of patterns within patterns.

Marks, stitches, textures and patterns inside an illustration remain independently editable rather than becoming fixed decoration.

Their scale, density, colour, orientation and pattern treatment can be adjusted according to the final application. The outer motif may remain unchanged while its internal pattern is recalibrated for a notebook, quilt, bedding range or large-format surface.

Because these internal components remain live and editable, one base artwork can generate multiple permutations, combinations and colourways without losing the identity of the original design.

The artwork does not simply scale. It can be reconfigured from within.

MULTIPLE VISUAL OUTCOMES

2. enlarged internal pattern
3. same motif with altered internal pattern scale/colour
4. application in a finished repeat or product

ONE COLLECTION → COMPLETE ARTWORK SYSTEM

Each collection is developed as a complete visual system — structured to maximise versatility, adaptability and creative possibility.

Rather than creating isolated prints, I build interconnected families of hero artwork, illustrations, patchworks, signature repeats, coordinates and supporting patterns designed to work independently and together.

The system is intentionally modular. Selected geometric coordinates, stripes, modern patchworks and row patterns can move between all-over repeats and continuous borders, while motifs and internal patterns can be rescaled, recoloured, rotated and reconfigured across layouts and applications.

Combined with three or more coordinated colourways, this creates multiple visual outcomes from one cohesive collection- giving creative, licensing & product teams a flexible toolkit for building coordinated ranges rather than a fixed set of prints.

Patchworks, rows, coordinates and borders are designed as adaptable components. Selected blocks, rows and motifs can be extracted, rearranged or reconfigured into alternate compositions while maintaining the visual language of the collection.

COLOUR AS A SYSTEM

Hero artwork is developed across coordinated colourways, creating different moods while preserving the identity of the collection. Supporting patterns can be adapted to selected palettes as needed for range development.

Designed Across Categories

Collections are developed with multiple applications in mind, allowing artwork to move naturally across home, textiles and lifestyle products.

One collection. Multiple outcomes. One recognisable visual language.

The aim is not simply to create individual prints, but to build flexible artwork families that give agents, brands and product teams a coherent foundation for range development.
